Constantine Rotary Club

About

Rotary is a worldwide organization of business and professional leaders that provides humanitarian service, encourages high ethical standards in all vocations, and helps build goodwill and peace in the world.  Rotarians are business and professional leaders who take an active role in their communities while greatly enriching their personal and professional lives.  A Rotary club contains a diverse group of professional leaders from the community that the club serves.  Through Rotary’s service programs, a Rotary club can have a significant effect on the quality of life in its community.  Programs of The Rotary Foundation offer opportunities to form international partnerships that help people in need worldwide.  Approximately 1.2 million Rotarians belong to more than 31,000 Rotary clubs located in 167 countries.

The Constantine Rotary, established in 1945, is part of District 6360 of Rotary International and has approximately 20 members.  In addition to sponsoring scholarships for Constantine High School graduating seniors, the club adopts projects for the benefit of the community and the schools.  Twice, the Constantine Rotary has purchased new lighting for Sweetland Stadium, the home of Constantine High School’s football field.

The Constantine Rotary also helps support myriad events including the Fourth of July Parade and Fireworks and the annual Harvest Festival.  The Constantine Rotary provides financial support for park improvement and similar projects, most recently the upgrades at Riverview Park, and club members participate in other community programs such as DASAS (Domestic Assault Shelter and Sexual Abuse Services), the local food bank, Keystone Place, Community Action Agency, Girls State, the Constantine Township Library, the Fawn River clean-up, the Constantine Soup Kitchen and so much more.

Our local club also goes international through financial contributions for Polio eradication worldwide and the provision of biosand filters in the Dominican Republic.
